Welcome to Get into Genes

Get into Genes is an interactive education program
for secondary school students that highlights the application of biotechnology to crop improvement.
It provides students with an insight into the relationship between molecular biology, genetics and plant breeding.

• ACPFG scientist Mark Tester is showcased as one of Australia's Emerging Leaders in The Australian.

• Staff from Get into Genes shared a new workshop, 'Issues in Gene Technology' with teachers from across Australia at the Conference of the Australian Science Teachers Association in July 2009. See photos here.

• Get into Genes has now reached over 10,000 students and teachers in South Australia and Victoria since 2004!!

• Listen to the Get into Genes radio interview on 3RRR's Einstein a go go 

• In August 2008 Get into Genes Victoria moved into its new lab space in the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology at La Trobe University.  See here for details.

• Get into Genes has received the Excellence in Innovation in Education and Training and Public Outreach Activities Award from The CRC Association.
